REFACING

Many homes have kitchen cabinetry that is structurally sound, but appears worn or outdated.  Refacing is a cost effective alternative to replacing the kitchen if the layout is to remain essentially the same.

The Cabinet Wizard has developed a unique refacing process that transforms your outdated cabinets into a beautiful new kitchen.  Design changes can be made to your kitchen, such as changing an area from doors to drawers or even adding matching cabinets.  Many interior features can also be included such as roll-out trays or lazy-susans.  You can use any wood type, door style, or finish to complete the refacing process.  This process does not require the removal of the existing cabinetry, countertops, appliances, or sinks.  It is, therefore, less expensive and less of an inconvenience than replacing all the cabinetry with new.  Your newly refaced kitchen will have all of the features and the new design you have been dreaming of.

The Process:

The work performed in the home for an average-size kitchen can be completed in about one week's time.  Unlike a full kitchen replacement, you can even continue using your kitchen during the refacing process.

The first step in the process is to select the type of wood and finish to be used, along with the door style and hardware.  After these selections have been made, we begin the work that is done in the shop.  During this time, usually about two weeks, there is no disruption in your home.  The new doors, drawer fronts, drawers, and refacing materials are prepared.  Lastly, the finish that you have selected is professionally applied.

Now we are ready to show up at your home and begin the actual refacing process.  First, we remove all existing doors, drawers, and trim.  The exterior surfaces of the cabinetry are covered with the new pre-finished materials.  We use a full ¼" thick wood covering.  New drawers are installed using smooth operating side glides.  The new doors are installed using high quality concealed hinges.  Pre-finished hardwood moldings are then applied.  And presto! Like magic, you have a modern new kitchen of your design.
