The Process: The work performed in the home for an average-size kitchen can be completed in about one week's time. Unlike a full kitchen replacement, you can even continue using your kitchen during the refacing process. The first step in the process is to select the type of wood and finish to be used, along with the door style and hardware. After these selections have been made, we begin the work that is done in the shop. During this time, usually about two weeks, there is no disruption in your home. The new doors, drawer fronts, drawers, and refacing materials are prepared. Lastly, the finish that you have selected is professionally applied. Now we are ready to show up at your home and begin the actual refacing process. First, we remove all existing doors, drawers, and trim. The exterior surfaces of the cabinetry are covered with the new pre-finished materials. We use a full ¼" thick wood covering. New drawers are installed using smooth operating side glides. The new doors are installed using high quality concealed hinges. Pre-finished hardwood moldings are then applied. And presto! Like magic, you have a modern new kitchen of your design. |
